MT-2 (Melanotan-II)
10mg
Melanotan-II (MT-2) is a cyclic lactam analog of alpha-melanocyte stimulating hormone (α-MSH). Developed at the University of Arizona, MT-2 is a non-selective melanocortin receptor agonist with activity at MC1R, MC3R, MC4R, and MC5R subtypes. It was originally investigated for its tanning properties via melanogenesis stimulation but attracted research interest across sexual function, appetite regulation, and compulsive behavior models due to its melanocortin receptor promiscuity.

Mechanism of Action
MT-2 binds melanocortin receptors 1-5 with varying affinity. MC1R activation on melanocytes upregulates tyrosinase and melanin synthesis via cAMP/PKA signaling. MC4R activation in hypothalamic nuclei modulates sexual arousal circuits (erectile function, libido) and suppresses food intake. MC3R engagement influences energy homeostasis and fat partitioning. The cyclic structure of MT-2 (Ac-Nle-c[Asp-His-D-Phe-Arg-Trp-Lys]-NH₂) provides enhanced receptor binding affinity and enzymatic resistance over linear α-MSH.
