Mechanism of Action
In engineered receptor-expressing cell systems, tirzepatide activates GIPR and GLP-1R. Willard et al. (2020) reported GIPR signaling resembling native GIP, while GLP-1R signaling favored cAMP generation over beta-arrestin recruitment and produced less GLP-1R internalization than GLP-1.
