01

Identity & nomenclature

Goserelin is a synthetic peptide parent containing an L-pyroglutamyl first unit, an O-tert-butyl-D-seryl unit at position 6 and a carbamoylhydrazide terminus. This record excludes counterions and water components.

The parent and acetate-containing material have distinct composition boundaries. Nine conventional amino-acid-derived units plus a semicarbazide end and a ten-position notation including azaglycine describe the stated connectivity; this record stores the end group separately from the residue chain.

Three-letter sequencepGlu–His–Trp–Ser–Tyr–D-Ser(O-tBu)–Leu–Arg–Pro
Terminal groupsN-terminal pyroglutamate; C-terminal aza-glycinamide at Pro9

pGlu is one L-pyroglutamyl (5-oxo-L-prolyl) unit. D-Ser(O-tBu) is one O-tert-butyl-D-seryl unit, with the ether on side-chain oxygen. Chiral positions 1–5 and 7–9 are L; position 6 is D. The stored chain contains nine amino-acid-derived units; the aza-glycinamide end is declared as terminal chemistry. Its full connectivity is Pro9–C(=O)–NH–NH–C(=O)–NH2. No one-letter string is supplied.

Structural characteristics

Dutta et al. reported synthesis of substituted aza analogues. Sanz-Nebot et al. reported chromatographic separation and mass-spectrometric identification of a goserelin synthesis mixture. The inspected abstracts do not establish a complete stereochemical audit of every preparation. The pyroglutamyl ring lies within residue 1; there is no inter-residue ring closure.

  • O-tert-butyl ether on D-Ser6

Terminal features: N-terminal pyroglutamate, C-terminal aza-glycinamide at Pro9.

Analytical considerations

The formula and 1269.433 Da average mass follow the defined parent structure using CIAAW 2024 abridged atomic weights. The terminal carbamoylhydrazide is neither a simple proline amide nor a proline ethylamide. A fixed acetate or hydrate composition is not assigned to the parent.

Cited studies by type

The 2 papers this record cites, counted by the kind of work each reports. A count is the size of this record's selection, not of the research that exists, and says nothing about results, safety, effectiveness or approval.

A paper can report more than one kind of work. Each count opens those papers in the bibliography. Compare every record on the Evidence Map.

Methodology & citation verification

Reference identity is checked against official PubMed metadata. Local deterministic receipts bind each normalized title and canonical metadata record to its verification date. Scientific values remain absent when an authoritative source has not been verified.
