01

Identity & nomenclature

Larazotide is a linear octapeptide with free N and C termini. This record describes the defined parent peptide composition separately from counterion-containing and hydrated preparations.

Larazotidum and larazotida are WHO language forms of the parent name. WHO Recommended INN List 61 defines the parent; US9051349B2 describes synthesis and distinguishes salt and hydrated preparations. Acetate-qualified names and shared development codes are not admitted as exact parent aliases.

Declared aliases and development codes: larazotidum, larazotida.

Eight standard residues numbered from Gly1. All chiral residues are L; glycine is achiral. The chain has seven ordinary peptide bonds and free termini. No counterion or hydration component is included.

03

Structural characteristics

The defined parent is a linear octapeptide with free amino and carboxyl termini. The patent synthesis and Di Micco et al. synthesis and supplementary analytical material support the covalent parent. A separate January 2021 synthesis account gives conflicting Gly-Wang and Ile-Wang resin descriptions; its actual material remains unresolved and is not used to redefine this parent.

Terminal features: Free N-terminus, Free C-terminal carboxyl.

Analytical considerations

The formula matches WHO Recommended INN List 61; the 725.845 Da average mass is calculated using CIAAW 2024 abridged atomic weights. PubChem reports 725.8 at one-decimal precision. GSRS estimates 726.0 under an unestablished mass convention; that number is non-defining. Di Micco et al. report an ESI [M+H]+ value of 726.4125, compared with the calculated 726.41446547480; analytical acceptance tolerance is not established. Ion m/z, neutral monoisotopic mass and average molecular mass are distinct.

Cited studies by type

The one paper this record cites, counted by the kind of work each reports. A count is the size of this record's selection, not of the research that exists, and says nothing about results, safety, effectiveness or approval.

A paper can report more than one kind of work. Each count opens those papers in the bibliography. Compare every record on the Evidence Map.

Methodology & citation verification

Reference identity is checked against official PubMed metadata. Local deterministic receipts bind each normalized title and canonical metadata record to its verification date. Scientific values remain absent when an authoritative source has not been verified.
