Eptifibatide
Eptifibatide is a synthetic peptide containing L-homoarginine and a disulfide closure connecting an N-terminal 3-mercaptopropanoyl unit to the C-terminal cysteinamide.
01
Identity & nomenclature
Eptifibatide is a synthetic peptide containing L-homoarginine and a disulfide closure connecting an N-terminal 3-mercaptopropanoyl unit to the C-terminal cysteinamide.
WHO Recommended INN List 40 names the parent and its language forms. Six amino acids plus one non-amino-acid acyl unit occupy seven conventional positions. CAS provenance and historical codes remain withheld. FDA uses the literal term interchain, while WHO and analytical ring-scission evidence establish an intramolecular disulfide. EMA prose says (L)propyl, whereas its sequence representation and the other admitted structures identify proline. These editorial wording conflicts remain unresolved and do not define additional bonds or residues.
Declared aliases and development codes: Eptifibatidum, Eptifibatida.

Conventional numbering counts Mpa1, Har2, Gly3, Asp4, Trp5, Pro6 and Cys7. Mpa is the achiral N-terminal 3-mercaptopropanoyl acyl unit, not an amino acid. Har is L-homoarginine, equivalently N6-amidino-L-lysine. The six amino acids contain five L chiral units and achiral Gly. Cysteinamide is a terminal group; no one-letter string is supplied. Source amino-acid-only numbering Har1-Cys6 maps to conventional positions 2-7.

Analytical considerations
The molecular formula describes the parent; the average mass is calculated using CIAAW 2024 abridged atomic weights. FDA prints 831.96: +0.005 Da (+6.0099 ppm). EMA prints 831.32: +0.645 Da (+775.8745 ppm) against the average; neither source explicitly establishes its precise mass convention. PubChem displays 832.0 Da: -0.035 Da (-42.0673 ppm), consistent with one-decimal rounding. Those published figures are non-defining; reduced and altered MS products are separate material.

Verified bibliography
Cited studies by type
The one paper this record cites, counted by the kind of work each reports. A count is the size of this record's selection, not of the research that exists, and says nothing about results, safety, effectiveness or approval.
A paper can report more than one kind of work. Each count opens those papers in the bibliography. Compare every record on the Evidence Map.

Methodology & citation verification
Reference identity is checked against official PubMed metadata. Local deterministic receipts bind each normalized title and canonical metadata record to its verification date. Scientific values remain absent when an authoritative source has not been verified.
