01

Identity & nomenclature

Icatibant is a synthetic linear decapeptide containing D-configured and nonproteinogenic amino-acid units. This record describes its counterion-free parent peptide.

Icatibantum is the WHO Latin name. HOE 140 is admitted with a form boundary and does not fix acetate stoichiometry. Acetate identifiers are excluded. An IUPHAR DL/underspecified encoding conflicts with the fully assigned WHO/FDA/EMA parent and is not imported.

Declared aliases and development codes: Icatibantum, HOE 140.

Terminal groupsFree N-terminus; Free C-terminal carboxyl

The ten tokens are ordered from D-Arg1, which is D-arginine (R). Arg2, Pro3, Ser7 and Arg10 are L; Gly5 is achiral. Hyp4 is (2S,4R)-4-hydroxyproline. Thi6 is (S)-3-(thiophen-2-yl)alanine, the 2-thienyl isomer. D-Tic8 is the (3R)-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline-3-carboxylic acid unit. Oic9 is the (2S,3aS,7aS)-octahydroindole-2-carboxylic acid unit. Intrinsic unit rings are not inter-residue closures. No standard one-letter string can encode these units faithfully.

Analytical considerations

The molecular formula describes the parent; the average mass is calculated using CIAAW 2024 abridged atomic weights. FDA prints 1304.55 (-0.009 Da, -6.899 ppm); EMA prints 1304.52 (+0.021 Da, +16.098 ppm). Both are non-defining published figures with unestablished precise conventions. They are not averaged. Mass alone cannot distinguish the N-terminal epimer.

Verified bibliography

Cited studies by type

The 2 papers this record cites, counted by the kind of work each reports. A count is the size of this record's selection, not of the research that exists, and says nothing about results, safety, effectiveness or approval.

A paper can report more than one kind of work. Each count opens those papers in the bibliography. Compare every record on the Evidence Map.

Methodology & citation verification

Reference identity is checked against official PubMed metadata. Local deterministic receipts bind each normalized title and canonical metadata record to its verification date. Scientific values remain absent when an authoritative source has not been verified.
