Lyophilized Peptide

Kisspeptin-10 10mg

Kisspeptin-10 (KP-10, metastin 45-54) is the C-terminal decapeptide, Tyr-Asn-Trp-Asn-Ser-Phe-Gly-Leu-Arg-Phe-NH₂, shared by the longer kisspeptins encoded by the KISS1 gene, and carries the RF-amide C-terminus common to the family. This listing contains 10mg of lyophilized material. Supplied strictly for in-vitro research and laboratory use only. Not for human or animal use.

Mechanism of Action

In 2001, two groups identified KiSS-1 gene products as ligands of the orphan G-protein-coupled receptor GPR54 (KISS1R). Ohtaki et al. isolated the 54-residue, C-terminally amidated peptide metastin from human placenta as the endogenous ligand of the receptor. Kotani et al. isolated 54-, 14- and 13-residue kisspeptins with a common RF-amide C-terminus, which bound rat and human GPR54 with low-nanomolar affinity and stimulated PIP₂ hydrolysis, Ca²⁺ mobilization and ERK1/2 and p38 phosphorylation in transfected CHO-K1 cells. Kisspeptin-10 corresponds to the C-terminal ten residues common to these forms.
