Selank
Selank is a synthetic heptapeptide consisting of the tetrapeptide tuftsin extended at the C-terminus with the tripeptide Pro-Gly-Pro.
01
Identity & nomenclature
Selank is a synthetic heptapeptide consisting of the tetrapeptide tuftsin extended at the C-terminus with the tripeptide Pro-Gly-Pro.
Selank is the tetrapeptide tuftsin (Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg) extended at the C-terminus with Pro-Gly-Pro. The catalog separately lists N-acetyl selank amidate, a distinct molecule carrying an N-terminal acetyl group and a C-terminal amide. Registry numbers reported for that modified variant are inconsistent across suppliers and no CAS for it is published here.
Declared aliases and development codes: Selanc, Tuftsin-Pro-Gly-Pro, TP-7, TP-7.

Structural characteristics
Selank follows the same fragment-plus-extension construction as Semax: a short sequence from a larger endogenous parent, extended with a C-terminal Pro-Gly-Pro tripeptide. The parents differ in kind. Semax takes its fragment from ACTH, itself a peptide hormone; tuftsin is a fragment of the Fc region of the immunoglobulin G heavy chain, a protein. The sequence contains three proline residues, two of which are contributed by the extension.
Terminal features: Free N-terminus, Free C-terminal carboxyl.

Analytical considerations
Vanhee et al. (PMID 31667971) reports TKPRPGP and KTPRPGP as de novo candidates at 1.5 ppm. Arg-C digestion did not separate them; subsequent rLys-C digestion yielded the fragment pair consistent with TKPRPGP. This supports the recorded Selank sequence against that transposition and is not the original source of the Selank name-to-sequence mapping. Table 1 describes custom-synthesized reference standards from Thermo Fisher Scientific, not the seized material. Its C33H57N11O9 formula matches this record. The reported 751.4341 Da is monoisotopic mass; the library retains 751.9 Da average mass. The rLys-C result is specific to the parent peptide and is not transferred to its terminally modified variant.

Verified bibliography
Cited studies by type
The 2 papers this record cites, counted by the kind of work each reports. A count is the size of this record's selection, not of the research that exists, and says nothing about results, safety, effectiveness or approval.
A paper can report more than one kind of work. Each count opens those papers in the bibliography. Compare every record on the Evidence Map.

Methodology & citation verification
Reference identity is checked against official PubMed metadata. Local deterministic receipts bind each normalized title and canonical metadata record to its verification date. Scientific values remain absent when an authoritative source has not been verified.
